COMMUNITY NEWS:
The Stoney Creek Community Council (PAC) is looking for a parent (or parents) to be our school’s DPAC (District Parent Advisory Committee) Representative.
What is DPAC?
DPAC is a district-wide committee made up of parent representatives from each Burnaby school. Members meet to learn about district initiatives and programs, share information with their school community, and provide input to the Burnaby School Board on educational matters.
Every school is required to have a DPAC representative, and this role is a great way to stay informed and have a voice at the district level.
If you’d like to learn more or are interested in this position, please filll out THIS FORM and we will reach out to you!
Friday Night Hoops is a new evening basketball program for Gr. 6/7 students. It will run on Fridays from 6:00 – 7:30 pm in the school gym starting on October 3rd. If your Gr. 6/7 child is interested in joining this program please complete this form to express your interest. This is a free program with limited space. Needing Extra Snacks? – Backpack Buddies is a non-profit organization which partners with local schools to provide snack bags to send home with students. Stoney Creek is very appreciative of this partnership for our students. The snack bags are delivered to the school each week and then the bags are sorted and delivered to students’ classrooms to put into their backpacks to take home. If your child(ren) are in need of nutritional support from Backpack Buddies due to limited income, please click here to fill out the form. If you have more than one child, please fill out a form for each child. For more information about Backpack Buddies, please visit https://www.backpackbuddies.ca.
