In order to keep the Stoney Creek Community better informed, we will be providing a week at a glance for each week to feature events that families might need reminders about and to keep everyone up-to-date on what’s happening each week.  At the bottom, we will include large upcoming school-wide events and community programs to keep your eyes open for.

COMMUNITY NEWS:

Easter Purdy’s Fundraiser is LIVE! The Community Council has created an Easter Purdy’s campaign. Orders can be placed using this link: https://fundraising.purdys.com/947077-127878.

  • Last day to place orders is April 7, 2025
  • Orders will arrive at the school by April 14, 2025
  • Exact pick up dates/times will be provided closer to the date.

Home Alone Evening Course (Gr. 4-7) We will be offering a “Home Alone” course on Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 6-8 pm in the Stoney Creek Community School Library. This is a two-hour in-person course.  It is a chance for parents who want to prepare their child for staying at home alone once they are 10 years old or older. The course is designed for both parent and child together and is facilitated by The Family Education and Support Centre.

Topics covered include:

  • dealing with emergencies
  • answering the door
  • snack/cooking
  • gauging your child’s readiness to be home alone.

If you are interested in registering for this course, please fill out this form by Sunday, March 2nd to express your interest.  We will contact you to confirm your space.  The cost per parent/child registered is $25 and payment will be through School Cash.
