We will be celebrating Literacy Week with a variety of activities from January 29 to February 2. Some of the daily activities include:
Monday: Mystery Reader – teachers will swap classes to read a picture book.
Tuesday: Word Scavenger Hunt – Classes will be given a list of words to find around their classroom and the school.
Wednesday: Literacy Trivia Quiz – a primary or intermediate literacy quiz will be given to each class to work on and hand in at the end of the day for a class treat
Thursday: Blind Date with a Book – Teachers will borrow a wrapped/unknown book from the library and open it to read in class with their students.
Friday: Cozy Reading – wear pajamas, bring stuffies and pillows, cozy up and read alone or with a friend in class!
Family Literacy Bingo will be emailed to families with challenges to complete together over the week, in an attempt to get 5 in a row! You can also click here to get the bingo sheet.
