Week @ the Creek for Summer and September

In order to keep the Stoney Creek Community better informed, we will be providing a week at a glance for each week to feature events that families might need reminders about and to keep everyone up-to-date on what’s happening each week.  At the bottom, we will include large upcoming school-wide events and community programs to keep your eyes open for.

COMMUNITY NEWS:

BPL Summer Reading – Join the free Summer Reading Club for kids of all ages at Burnaby Public Library! Registration starts on Monday, June 15 at any BPL location or you can sign up online.  Read anything, anywhere, any way, and in any language.  Being read to also counts!

Check out activities for kids at the library this summer at all locations.

At the end of the summer kids can come in for their Summer Reading Club medals!

The Summer Fun Pass for children and youth aged 5–18 returns this summer and provides unlimited access to a variety of drop-in activities across the city’s recreational facilities, including outdoor pools, for $20+GST. This pass allows for a range of activities from swimming to fitness classes and basketball, ensuring a fun-filled summer to keep children and youth active. Valid from June 26 to September 8, 2026, exclusively for Burnaby residents. Some activities may have age restrictions.

Save the Date! Questcoast Kids Canada Day Chili Cook-Off and NEBCA Bake Sale: Join us July 1 at Peanut Park for the 2nd annual Chili Cook Off. Sign up now to join the competition or connect with us to include your small business in the event. Questcoastkids.com/chili-cook-off

Whether you cook a chili or not, everyone is welcome! We will have family yoga by Monkinya, a sensory tent by Monarch House, a Dino themed scavenger hunt by Questcoast Kids and more.
