In order to keep the Stoney Creek Community better informed, we will be providing a week at a glance for each week to feature events that families might need reminders about and to keep everyone up-to-date on what’s happening each week.  At the bottom, we will include large upcoming school-wide events and community programs to keep your eyes open for.

COMMUNITY NEWS:

Big Brothers/Sisters Teen Mentorship Afterschool Program – We have a few spaces available for the Big Brothers Teen Mentorship Afterschool program.  This free program runs every Monday from 3-4:30 pm in the Community Room and students are matched with a fully-trained high school volunteer for mentorship, fun activities (crafts, games, sports) and to help build social skills.  If you are interested in this program for your child(ren),  please fill out this form.

We will reach out to you with registration information if we are able to offer your child a space.  Students must commit to attend every Monday from now until June. For more information on the Big Brothers Teen Mentorship program,  please visit their website here.

District Info Sessions – Dear Families: In advance of Registration Month in February, several information sessions are being held, beginning mid-January, to help as you and your child plan for the 2026-27 school year.

Please note that a new session is being offered this year on February 11 for families with elementary-aged children who are interested in Education Through the Arts at Confederation Park Elementary, which is a Program of Choice offered District-wide.

You can find details about all District Information Evenings connected to student planning for the next school year here, including sessions about Career Education options, High School Course Planning, Elementary French Immersion and more.

Babysitter Training Program will be offered at Stoney Creek for 11-15 yr old students. Participants will learn valuable skills, emergency procedures and tips on childcare with a certificate awarded to those who successfully complete the course. The program will be completed over 3 sessions, starting with a full day session on the February 27 pro-d day. More details and registration is available here.

Shadbolt’s Family Art Night is taking place at Stoney Creek on Monday, February 23rd from 6:00 – 7:30 pm. Click here to register.

Creekside Preteen Spring Break Camp! Come join our Pre-teen camp – an opportunity to make new social connections, challenge yourself with sporting and cooperative games and activities. There will also be small out trips throughout the week! (register here)

Metro Minor Ball Hockey – Join Canada’s fastest growing sport! Season runs from March to June for boys and girls ages 5 – 19 years old. Kids born in 2021 & 2022 play for free this season! View the flyer here.
