Pancake Breakfast Volunteers – We are very excited to be hosting our annual Pancake Breakfast next Wednesday, December 17th, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to recess! The Burnaby Firefighters will be here bright and early flipping pancakes, and they’ll also be providing all of the syrup to pour on top! Spirit Day Information – We are excited to let you know that our next Spirit Day will be Festive Day on Wednesday December 17th. On this day, students are invited to come to school dressed in holiday-themed clothing and/or cozy pajamas to celebrate the season together. It’s a fun way to show school spirit, spread cheer, and enjoy the festive atmosphere as a community.
Get ready to stay comfy! On Tuesday, January 6th, our school will celebrate Pajama Day as part of Spirit Week. Students are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite pajamas — whether they’re cozy flannels, fun patterns, or silly matching sets. Pajama Day is all about comfort, school spirit, and enjoying a relaxed day together.

Calm & Confident Parenting – Burnaby Family Life is offering this parenting program starting on January 15th in the Stoney Creek Community Room from 12:45 – 2:45 pm. The group will meet for 8 consecutive Thursdays, covering a variety of topics and offering a space to share strategies and ideas that will help create calm and joyful moments for you and your family. Burnaby FC Registration for Winter Program – The next round of afterschool soccer will be open to Grade 2 and 3 students. It will run on Mondays from 3:00 – 4:30 pm in the School Gym from January 12 – February 9 (no session January 26). Please note registration will take place on SchoolCash on a first-come-first-serve basis. Registration goes live on SchoolCash Online at 12:00 pm Monday, December 15th. The cost of this program is $40 – if your child is interested in participating and you are in need of financial support to cover the cost, please contact Ms. Briscoe by email before December 15th (taryn.briscoe@burnabyschools.ca)
Night Hoops Registration – This is a free Friday night basketball program for Grade 6 & 7 students. It will be running from January 9 – February 13 in the School Gym from 6:00 – 7:30 pm.
Registration is required – a registration link will be emailed to families of these students on Monday, December 15th at 12:30 pm.
Please register your child if they are interested. We will confirm if they have a spot or if they are on the waitlist by the end of the week.
Stoney Creek Holiday Support for Families – Every year, Stoney Creek Community School looks to help Stoney families who may be facing a few extra challenges.
